NIJI in App Store, download it!

Niji icon

Hi guys, finally we are glad to announce the release of “Niji The Endless Rainbow” in the App Store, an old school arcade game where you must explode flowers to increase the speed of the rainbow and your score. The game is a universal App (iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad) and it’s actually sold at Tier 1 for a limited time only.
The application is distributed by Forge 11, our publisher, and it has Open Feint integration, so you can compare your high-scores worldwide or with your friends.
To support indiegame development we are asking you to share this announcement via facebook or twitter, but first of all remember to download the game HERE or clicking the big icon on top.
Enjoy!

NIJI

In Italy hot weather is killing us, and when the hot comes and fuck the brain, people begin to have strange thoughts, or strange ideas. The last idea that came to our team is to work on a new game. Don’t worry, Noctu will not be abandoned, but only remain paused until 31st of July, date for which we must complete the game NIJI.
NIJI is a game created for the new competition of TIGsource, where you have to create a complete game from fake covers made from cool graphic designers.
Here you can see the cover from which inspiration was taken:

and here is the layout of the game:

NIJI layout

The rainbow flows from right to left, above it there are some plants, the player must touch them to “explode” the flowers.
On the right side of the screen will appear only evil plants, touching or clicking you will transform them in good plants, when they reach the left side of the screen you earn points, and the rainbow flows more quickly, if a evil flower isn’t transformed and it touch the left side of the screen, rainbow will slow down, when it stops it’s game over.
There will be plants that bring you to game over instantly, others change screen colors (almost like a trip due to drugs) and others that give bonuses.

The game will be avaible for PC, OSX, iPad and iPhone. Suggestions or critiques are always welcome!!!

New Background – The Wood

Yesterday we completed a new background for Noctu,it took long time (20 hours) and patience to be done, here you will see only three portions of the background, but it’s actually 7168 pixels long. At first was realized the drawing of the outlines, then various elements have been colored with different shades of gray, than were applied shadows and lights, and finally the details (leaves and mist). If you are interested in the method of realization, next time we will make a video that will follow step by step the procedure. Critiques and comments are always welcome.

Michał Marcinkowski: Why We Need Emotions

I found very interesting the words of Michal Marcinkowski, who during a conference (TEDxWulkan, where the theme was “It’s impossible. But it’s doable.”) talks about motivators that can push us to do great things, to do the impossible. I think his words can be an inspiration to all people who want to create something, and that in their small, want to change the world.
